Joyce mainly painted in acrylics and her work was largely concerned with coastal landscapes.  The cliffs, quarries, beaches and harbours of Dorset, Devon and Cornwall were a constant source of inspiration to her.  Her bold use of colour created joyful paintings from our beautiful local surroundings.​
