Joyce Ringrose Coastal Artist

Joyce Ringrose, coastal artist at work

My mum, Joyce Ringrose, painted for as long as I can remember.  Joyce  exhibited her work and sold originals, prints and art cards at various galleries around the south of England.

As a teenager, she studied Fine Art at Bournemouth College of Art.

Joyce continued to paint whilst bringing up a family and eventually returned to her art education as a mature student, gaining a B.Ed. (Hons) degree in Art Education at La Sainte Union College, Southampton.  This was followed by five years full-time teaching Art and Ceramics at Portchester Boys School, Bournemouth.  She decided to restart her art career in ceramics and established a pottery, but eventually came back to painting in 1995.

Joyce mainly painted in acrylics and her work was largely concerned with coastal landscapes.  The cliffs, quarries, beaches and harbours of Dorset, Devon and Cornwall were a constant source of inspiration to her.  Her bold use of colour  created joyful paintings from our beautiful coastal surroundings.

5"x5" cards are available to purchase in the Art Cards shop page in singles or packs of four. Greeting cards are printed on a 350gsm silk white card, FSC certified, and come individually packed with a premium white envelope in a clear cellophane sleeve.

Mounted prints are available from £60, sizes shown are the total dimensions (including mount board). The mount is off white, textured acid free board. This is a premium quality board, not to be confused with with much thinner "off the shelf" boards. All prints are supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity, backing board and cellophane sleeve.
